2. Hometown: Right now Danville, but I've lived in Tabernacle, N.J., and Eugene, Ore.

3. Career Highlight: Watching the light bulb come on in the "aha!" moment for students during my office hours

4. Favorite College Course: I really liked "African-American Religious Traditions" at Penn State.

5. Recent Presentation or Other Professional Project: I just submitted a paper to Crystal Growth and Design about some polymorphs I made in grad school.

6. Family: Two sisters—one almost done with med school and one elementary school teacher

7. Hobbies: What don't I like to do? Singing, knitting, baking, trying new things, grading lab reports (just kidding!)

8. Most memorable experience of your education: The day I defended my dissertation

9. Prized possession: Aside from my cat, the quilts my grandmother made.

10. Favorite book: "Book of Psalms" and "The Ragamuffin Gospel" by Brennan Manning

11. Memorable trip/vacation: I can't wait to go to New Zealand!

12. Favorite movie: "It's a Wonderful Life" and "The Shawshank Redemption." I'm a sucker for sappy movies.

13. Favorite album: I listen to a little of almost everything.

15. Attitude toward technology: A challenge to be conquered

17. Living figure you'd most like to meet: Jimmy Carter
