How to Obtain a Passport

Often, the easiest method for Centre students to obtain a passport is to apply for the passport at the Danville Post Office, located only a few blocks from campus on Main Street. Appointments are necessary to apply for passports; schedule yours by calling (859) 236-6334.

At the appointment, you will fill out Form DS-11 and will also need to submit evidence of U.S. citizenship. To see which documents are needed to do so, click here.

You must also present identification while filling out the passport application. A valid driver's license will be acceptable; for other acceptable identification documents, click here.

You must have an official passport photo as part of your application. We can take your passport photo in the Center for Global Citizenship, located in Old Carnegie, for $5. Before coming to have your photo taken, please pay Rebekah Bertram (in the cashier's office of Boles Hall) and bring the receipt with you.

The current fee for a passport application is around $135. You can also have your official passport photo taken at the Danville Post Office for an additional $15. For more information about the fees associated with passports, click here.

Centre's Your Passport

Centre's Your Passport provides reimbursement for first-year students to get a passport if they do not already own one, provided they turn in passport receipts to the Center for Global Citizenship by October of their freshman year. The program helps demonstrate Centre's commitment to helping students become globally aware and globally involved and to prepare them for positions of leadership in the global community.
