Gifts big and small matched by $100 in Alumni Giving Challenge

February 14, 2013 By Elizabeth Trollinger
Alumni Giving Challenge In a new giving challenge, every alumni gift—regardless of its
size—will be matched with a $100 gift from an anonymous
donor, for up to $250,000.

Centre alumni are known for their loyalty and commitment to their alma mater, and with the new Alumni Giving Challenge, they have the opportunity to give back to the College in a big way.

For the Alumni Giving Challenge, any alumni gift to the College—big or small—will be matched with $100.

“The Alumni Challenge provides an excellent opportunity for all Centre alumni to participate in this year’s annual giving campaign,” says Jacky Thomas Seaver, director of annual giving. “A member of the Board of Trustees has offered to match each and every alumni gift—regardless of its size—with a $100 gift, up to $250,000.”

“What this means, of course, is that the gifts of the next 2,500 alumni donors are each going to produce an extra $100 for the College. I’m hoping alumni will be excited to help us meet this goal, which will have the extra benefit of returning Centre to 60 percent alumni participation, “ says Richard Trollinger, vice president for college relations.

The Alumni Giving Challenge comes in the midst of the of the Colonels Challenge, an effort to secure 500 new Colonels Club members or Centre Associates—donors who give $1,000 or more—by the close of the fiscal year on June 30, 2013.

“The Colonels Challenge proved to be a huge success in the fall, and we’re excited for the possibilities the Alumni Challenge holds,” Seaver says.

With the Alumni Giving Challenge, Centre alums can participate not only in helping the College meet its giving goals, but can also make a financial commitment towards the betterment of the institution.

“This challenge has excellent potential for doing lots of good things for the College,” Trollinger says.
